A School for Uganda

A school for Uganda is the name of the project that ACLI of Sant’Andrea in Villis has supported since 1988 with the money raised from the Befana festival that takes place every year on the 6th January. The aim of this festival is to help children of Moroto in North-East Uganda, Iriri. Here Sister Mariagrazia Neri, with the help of other sisters works to help give children an education.

The money donated has helped to build a school and a well for fresh water. Furthermore children now sleep in beds, something they had never experienced before.

Sister Mariagrazia Neri always sends letters to ACLI to tell of the progress of the works. She never forgets to thank ACLI for the generous donations. One of the touching letters from Sister Mariagrazia Neri says “Those who want to give us a hand are spoilt for choice”.

This is the aim of the Befana Festival in Sant’Andrea in Villis, Fano, Marche, Italy.
